Sakura knocked on Naruto's office door and tapped her foot impatiently. She shifted a sleeping Sumaru in her arm and knocked again. She got fed up and busted the door down. Sumaru surprisingly stayed asleep. Sakura looked around the office and sighed in exasperation. Naruto had his head on the desk and he was snoring. She rolled her eyes and smacked him on the head. "Wha-!!!" he said as he fell out of his chair.
His cloak somehow went over his head and he was struggling to get it untangled. Sakura sighed and set Sumaru down on a little couch on the other side of the room. She walked over and grabbed the cloak and threw it off of his head. "T
Sasuke looked at the little box in his hand. He opened it and looked at the emerald in the ring. He sighed and glared at the spot on the ground in front of him. He was sitting on a log in the middle of the training grounds forest. "Hey teme!" he heard a familiar voice say. He didn't look up. "Okay, don't answer me." Naruto said as he sat next to Sasuke. Sasuke glared at Naruto and stood up. Naruto noticed the box in his hand. "Is that for Sakura-chan?!" he asked. Sasuke turned around. "Yes! I mean-NO! I mean-ARRRG! I don't know!"
Naruto blinked. Wow. "Are you going to pop the question?" he asked. Sasuke shot another glare at the blond, "What
"Naruto, I think I'm falling in love with you."
As soon as those words reached his ears, Naruto's mind went blank.
Love?
He could honestly admit that he had never been told that before, but...
What did love mean?
She was looking at him pleadingly, and it was hard to think that this vulnerable girl before him, had only a month ago, been a jonin, one he who didn't so much as spare him a passing glance.
"C'mon! Say something! Anything!"
These past weeks, they had been terrific, horrifying....
And so much fun, all wrapped up in one crazy package.
He had made so many new friends, he had gotten so strong...
But no amount of training, ment
A dry chuckle rose from Naruto.
Break her head?
He would have none of that.
Holding Zangetsu out, he swung it from left to right, in an experimental arc, ignoring the laboring breathing of his body, his screaming torn muscles.
That attack had taken more out of him than he thought.
And even though the Kyuubi, foul fox though he was, could heal him-
He was only human.
Unlike this powerhouse of an espada, and from all the hollows he had pursued, poor Naruto was running on empty.
Yet he still retained his sharp wit, as made evident by his sharp reply.
"Sorry... but no skull crushin allowed."
Nnoitra laughed, easily seeing through the bl

"How much longer until we find a city or town? This is getting tiresome, being attacked consistently by wild beasts or vengeful beings." Sasuke grumbles as the rogue glares at some point where they're traveling towards.
"You just want to buy new blades to wield that didn't come from plundering our foes." He counters and the red skinned Sasuke gives him a hefty glare before looking away with only the slightest scowl. He couldn't help but grin toothily at the Half-Fiend's back.
It's good to be in a position where he can't attack me without having to worry about who'll heal his injuries if I'm mad at him. He thinks with

"Hey, Naruto!" Kiba calls and he turns to look at the now eleven year old academy student who's at the head of a group consisting of Choji, Hinata, Neji, and Shikamaru. Next to him, Dart flickers his tail in a dismissive gesture as the Fairy Dragon continues to eat from his bowl of berries.
"Hey you guys! I got us a cake to celebrate Neji's promotion." He tells the group; not that they hadn't noticed it when they arrived.
"Are we going to wait for Anko and Shino?" Hinata asks as the group moves to take up spot by the upturned crate that the cake is sitting on.
"Anko left a note on my table saying that she's going to

"These spiders don't taste too good." He tells anyone who'd listen as he shakes his head rapidly with his mouth open in hopes that the spider bits in his mouth will drop out. He hovers a foot or two above the floor since he's trying to avoid getting caught in the web that's blocking the others' path.
Then he uses his taloned hands to scrape his tongue gently since he really didn't want his tongue to get cut and start to bleed. He ignores how the webs soon began to get consumed by fire, one likely set by their Warlock, Kiba.
"Blasted webs, freakin' spiders. Hope they all roasted alive." Neji grumbles softly as he does a

The pieces were in front of him, but did they make sense?
Click.
Hardly.
Click.
As the captain moved a sacrificial piece on the Shougi board, the pieces of an intangible puzzle, spawned from the genius and guidance of his mentor, floated in his mind with no discernibly fitting edges.
Slide. Click. The reigning king was captured.
He had to make them fit. Playing Shougi by himself was supposed to be therapeutic, but it wasn't effective in getting the cogs moving. Ever since they completed the first of the weekly check-ups and Shino updated him on the findings, things had taken a turn. And Shikamaru couldn't even tell
